Rwanda
The Irish Defence Forces did not have an official presence in Rwanda. However, in the aftermath of the Rwandan Genocide and the ensuing refugee crisis in 1994, small numbers of Irish soldiers were seconded to Irish aid agencies such as GOAL who were working with Rwandan refugees. Irish soldiers typically did logistics work, involved in the maintenance and routine organisation of refugee camps.
